6ES7-131-6BF00-0DA0 counter

I have that module in a 6ES7 155-6AU01-0BN0 as a node for a 6ES7 315-2FJ14-0AB0 and using the 6ES7-131-6BF00-0DA0 to read a flow meter. The flow meter doesn't go higher than 220Hz, so I know that the DI HS can handle it as it is below the 10kHz max that it can take. I am using it as a regular input into a regular counter and comparing that to a timer, but I have a feeling that reading a count off of the module periodically will be more accurate. I looked high and low, but there are no examples with this module that I can find.
