I have a project: PCS7 9.1+SP2, cpu 410-5H, F module as below:

- AI: 6DL1136-6AA00-0PH1

- AO: 6DL1135-6TF00-0PH1;

- DI: 6DL1136-6BA00-0PH1;

- DO: 6DL1136-6DA00-0PH1;

I tried to disable the spare channel ( no field cables is connected) wire break detect, but after downloading, the channel wire break alarm was stll reported, even I disabled that channel. Disable does not work.

Is it possible to have the spare channel not alarm? Because the spare channel is no wire connected, a wire break is reported and IM 155-6 ER Led is flashing. Also, notice that even a used DI channel, when the contact is open, the module ER LED will be flashing and CPU External fAULT led will turn RED.

I will suggest to keep it enable, so you do not need to change the configuration in the future if IO addition required . 

Put 2200ohm register at the terminal block, it will resolve your issue.
