OPC communication

kasun Posts: 28 Rating: (1)	Hi guyz, I need to communicate through OPC server and send 104 bytes at a time. I use a cpu 224 with cp243-1. Is there memory range other than bit memory(M0.0 to M31.7) which can be acessed through OPC server.Using bit memory only 32 bytes can be acessed through OPC server. How can I acess 104 bytes at a time through OPC server.

I Input Q Output PI \|Peripheral input PQ Peripheral output M Memory bits T Timers C Counters It was mentioned in the manual "SIMATIC NET Industrial Communication with PG/PC". (6GK1971-1GA00-0AA1) page 211. In that manual under the topic "Buffer-oriented Services" it is mentioned that "Up to 65534 bytes of payload data can be transferred regardless of the size of the PDU". The syntax used for receiving is "S7:[<connectionname>]BRCV,<RID>{,{<type>}<address> {,<quantity>}}". (Page 214 of the manual) But I found this little confusing. Can this be used with S7 200. If this can't be used can anybody tell me how to read 104 bytes (eg.VB0 to VB103) using S7200 and CP243-1 through OPC server (I'm using a client build using VB, I only need the item ID to be used in that client to acess 104 bytes a time ).If there is an alternative ay please mention that also. Here is a link to a 60 day license so can check: https://www.automation.siemens.com/_en/s7-200/support/tools_downloads/pcaccess.html PC-Access can access the V-Memory but I#m not sure if you can read a block.
