Hello Vinny; The CP 441-2 is a serial communication processor, that can be setup for RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485. No Ethernet available directly on the interfaces. There is a possibility of serial connection to a Allen-Bradley PLC, though a loadable driver for DF1:
Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier Note: the easiest way to setup DF1 comms on a CompactLogix CPU is a prosoft comm module MVI69-DFCM. Information from Prosoft Technology can be found here: http://www.prosoft-technology.com/prosoft/products/for_rockwell_automation/platform/compactlogix__1/mvi69_dfcm |

Hello Vinny; Just to muddy things more... You could use Profibus-DP between the 2 systems, using a Prosoft for the CompactLogix...yes, another module... From Prosoft Technology: DP69-DPM (master) or DP69-DPS (slave) modules http://www.prosoft-technology.com/profibus/ Hope this doesn't confuse you even more.. Daniel Chartier |
