sry, I don't understand your problem, you have some problem with one of PC? In case of transfering project from one PC to another, you can simply copy that right project folder to USB memory stick and paste to right folder on destination PC. Then it's accessible for you in list of available projects. In case of different versions of TIA, system must make migration, changes to that project. Pls consider, that you can upload prj from CPU (can be edited), but from HMI your upload can be used only as backup (image), in needed case transfered to another same type device (replacement). That backup you can create with ProSave utility. HMI backup cant be editable. In most cases I'll recomend use for upload same version of TIA, what was project on PLC created.

Yes it is simple... I just never "migrated" a program before...  I first tried to do it by eMail...  DUH!

Then it hit me this morning "use a flash drive, dummy!"    Thanks again.. :-)   

Also... your info on uploading from the PLC and HMI was interesting.  So, it is possible in certain conditions and with some limitations.   I would be using the same TIA V11 using a PC that didn't create the program, to upload what I can from the PLC and HMI.   However, I have no idea how to do that, so that a new project is created in the new computer .. and I don't want to experiment, and possibly corrupt the working project.

So, my alternative approach will be to "Migrate" the project to a thumb drive from the PC with the failed Network Controller, then migrate it into the good PC using the TIA V11's migrating feature.

Eventually.. I will need to migrate the program to TIA V12... then to TIA V13, which I am now using on other  computers.  Appartently, it is possible to convert a V11 program to a V13 program that way?

Hi again..

Unfortunately the "good" PC with the working Network Controller .. has a out of date version of TIA V11.

I need to update it form 0 to 5     Both Portals are service pack 2

so.. the next trick is to figure out how to use this site:

There are no understandable instructions.. or tutorial explaining the "path" and folder creation required to accomplish this update.  The instructions are only for people who already know how to do it.  I've done it before.. but, it's been a while, and I've forgotten how to do it.  Is there a tutorial anywhere for dummies?

simply download only update5 files (exe,...), it contain all previous updates. After download run that exe as Admin, better everytime run as Administrator. If your download not contain exe file, that file which is probably exe - rename it with that exe extension. Then run it as expected. This is classic procedure of update.
