check Connection of HMI and its status in the PLC

What should I do? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Split from How to create a life bit in TIA Portal v13.

itafusna Silver Member Joined: 2/17/2020 Last visit: 9/11/2025 Posts: 1251 Rating: (237)	Hi, You can use the Area Pointer "Coordination", as there is a 'life bit' that is inverted by the HMI every second. When you querying this bit in the PLC, you can check if the connection still exists

You can query all Profinet devices status with DeviceStates and use the status bits for diagnostics.
