Compatibility Issues with Windows 11: Update Needed from Siemens for V20 Sim

Siemens has acknowledged this issue on their official website, but I'm curious to know when they plan to provide a solution or workaround.

In the end, the main solution today is to use the siemens software with those operating systems that have been tested for compatibility, such as version 23H2. It is very likely that they are working on declaring compatibility with Windows in a future Update of V20, because if you check the excel of the compability tool there are many operating systems that are only compatible with certain versions of TIA Portal from a certain Update. If you are really interested in using the 24H2 version I suggest you to open a Support Request and probably they can give you more detailed information.

AutoGen_130990 Regular Member Joined: 4/28/2015 Last visit: 5/27/2025 Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Please correct me if I'm wrong, but since Win11 IoT Enterprise LTSC is based on 24H2, it seems like some OS support update would required at some point (at least for Unified PC RT). Otherwise, there could be an even longer wait (ie. until V21) for the SIMATIC IPCs to be migrated to Win11 IoT Enterprise LTSC - from their current Win10 IoT Enterprise LTSC. Let's hope it's soon, because I'd like to have PLCSim Standard V20 running on my 24H2 build as well. As a workaround, I've had success running PLCSim Advanced V7 on 24H2 (though not sure it's officially supported).
