The question might be misunderstood. Especially since the question is posted in the wrong conference. That is my opinion.

The built-in instructions in Step7 (TIA Portal) each has a help-page description. It is popping up when pressing F1 with the instruction highlighted. For user created functions, we designers have the ability to have such functionality too. There we use the SHIFT-F1 (?) keys.

For the functionality designers create user documents. This is then linked to the code. This is to the benefit of clients or design partners. It is not for public viewing.

I have the same issue, the help file is not found when shift+F1 is pressed.

I can see that when selecting the Global library item and press <shift+F1> the search is done in the right directory, but the file that is searched is <home.*> no matter what item I select in the global library. 

If I make a pdf file named Home.pdf in the directory, this is opened when I press <shift+F1>. 

Should the search not be done from the item name?
