Hello, You need to clear NC & PLC data. Then reload NC PLC back up data with you. Make sure that you have NC PLC back up data before clearing. Use above search button to know how to clear NC PLC data & reload the back up. HTH |

I've already done PLC clear and NC reset (with the switch S3 to 1 and press the reset button) many times. My 840D is used so it's not me who created the archive which are stored in the HDD. I don't know if there're compatible but it seems there're not (for the PLC at least). The backups stored in the HDD are 15/16 years old. Only the PCMCIA is new. It was purchased this year. Is there a way to get a fresh PLC backup from Siemens or something because I think that none of the PLC backups are working. I tried them all. When I do a PLC clear with the S4 switch (2-3-2 pos.) I get the 2001 plc has not started up error. And if I load a random PLC archive I get the 2000 plc sign-of-life monitoring error instead. |

Hello, From your above post, please clarify following points, since those are not clear in your posts. With this new PCMCIA card, your machine was working & all of sudden the problem occured. OR When you put/insert this new PCMCIA card in the system, this problem occured? I also presume that the system NC & PLC data is cleared properly, NC data is loaded without any problem but when you load PLC data, since it is not the compitable one, system is displaying error. So asuming my above points correct, I would suggest you following points. 1. If you have similar type (system configuration point of view) machine, try get back up data from it & load in the machine which is having trouble.(If you get ghost image, the better it would be) Please contact your machine tool builder & check if back up is available. 2. If you have tool box CD of the same machine try to load it. 3. Contact your nearest Siemens regional service center& get help. If at all you don't have PLC back up, you need to re-develop the logic. Yeah it didn't work from the beginning. I don't have backups that can work because this is the only NC in the company. So I guess I'm just fucked and have to call the hotline again which will just say the same thing that you already told me. Great. Thanks you for answering to my thread. |
