William_B Posts: 5225 Rating: (1204)	Hi there. VB886 is the first byte of the holding register. &VB886 is giving the absolute pointer address of VB886 to the control block. The holding register is 56 bytes wide. For more information about this, please refer to the in software help file that explains this instruction in more detail. Also see the attached PDF in the case that your help system files is not working under a 64-bit Windows. Regards, Marcjan Marcjan, Please correct me if I am wrong.. What you have shown us, is the memory consumed (used) by the instruction - right? The memory used by the internal workings of the instruction is not the same as the holding register - right? Does these used memory area show on the cross reference as being used? The complete holding register does not show on the cross reference unless you use it somewhere in the program to read the information. But.. what is VERY important is that a program designer needs to know about both these memory areas before deciding which memory area is available to add new variables. Especially the holding register can give you headaches. Greetings. w
