I need help reimaging a TP700 HMI

For reasons I cannot go into I have acquired a TP700 HMI off ebay. Before joining this to my network I wanted to factory reset it. I was able to deduce that I needed to get the image for it. Which I did. I also downloaded a program called ProSaver. Here are the links to show exactly what I was looking at. I have the HMI, I have my trusty laptop loaded with ProSaver, and I have the HMI at an ip I can ping. I cannot make a connection to the device to flash the img. I've was trying ethernet, but now I'm at the point where I no longer believe I can factory reset the device over ethernet.... I'm starting to think I need to use a different interface? or cable? I found a chart on this page about halfway down, that is kind of confusing but I think it means I need to use the X2 interface but with ethernet? Which.... the X2 on my device is a DB9 connector so... I have 0 background with these devices. I'm super lost. I'm kind of frustrated. So if anyone can explain to me what I'm missing and get me across the finish that would be super amazing of you.

Murof Platinum Expert Joined: 8/3/2009 Last visit: 9/9/2025 Posts: 16368 Rating: (1932)	Hello Awint If you have a normal Comfort Panel then you can do the Reset to factory settings with a normal Ethernet Cable (It is made with MAC address): https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/19701610 You do not need another special cable! there are only a few situations in which a reset to factory settings does not work. What shows your panel display? does it run to Runtime or WinCE completly (then you should be able to do a Reset ) Or do you have a KTP700?? then It is a Basic Panel 2nd en and you have to use another way (USB Recovery) A few more information would help us to find the best solution Good Luck bye Murof
