brian.grimshaw Posts: 61 Rating: (11)	I have converted some LAD + STL code to SCL and I would like to keep the original in the project for reference, but I don't want to maintain variables etc. for this block. Is there a way to keep the old block in the project and get the compiler to ignore it? We have also used this on other vendors' systems so that we could have a number of options and just enable the required blocks of code for those options - the others would be ignored by the compiler. There you're able to create copies of blocks, which you don't need in project or as a template. If you like to shre these blocks with other projects, you can put them in a global library. brian.grimshaw Is there a way to keep the old block in the project and get the compiler to ignore it?

If you have several versions of your block, you can use the type-concept. A type is able to edit. In your project you can use several versions of a type or update blocks automatically to the newest version. brian.grimshaw Posts: 61 Rating: (11)	Thanks Robster, I didn't know about those. I can't use them in this instance as these blocks will not compile. A colleague suggested inserting a dummy CPU into the project and putting the blocks there, and that works OK too. It's good to know you have options. Cheers, Brian
