Lathe can't cut thread well

qx100 Advanced Member Joined: 1/12/2011 Last visit: 6/19/2025 Posts: 46 Rating: (0)	Hi, I am surethe ratia from spindle head to spindle encoder is really 1:1(MD30170 and MD31080 both is 1).Spindle encoder shaft is connected the spindle shaft directly ,no any other adjustment between them.And I check MD30330 is really 360 degree. I also check the spindle encoder's connection ,it's OK. Maybe there some trouble with spindle encoder .

The only reasonable cause for the difference between the real number of the encoder pulses and the one that you have in MD's is that you have a gear between the encoder and the spindle. Another cause for incorrect treading could be the gear between the motor and the spindle. You must fill the MD's for all the axes for all the indices [0], [1], [2] even if you don't have any gear for the other axis. Good luck Nit

Anyway before we can find the problem with the spindle speed deviation we have to adjust: ==> 1really revolution on spindle side causes360deg position deviation in diagnostic screen. The encoder deliveres 1 zero pulse per revolution, the CNC calculates with 2500 pulses per revolution (defined in 31020). Additionally the CNC deliveres different values after modification of MD31020 (encoder assignment is OK). Although the spindle speed is not correct yet (difference in GearRatio or missetting in SetPoint calculation) - the thread must be OK. The CNC pickup the really spindle speed only from encoder signal! Can You provide us an archive with all machine parameters? hope that helps CNC600

Obviously, a different controler adjustment in the 6RAxx might compensate this setting. We ask one company come to fix the issure .The service people change MD34040 from 0.83333 to 5 and change 35300[0]...[5] from 500 to 10 ,last change MD31020 from 2300 to 2500 ,after restarting CNC ,It's OK! Now speed that display on screen is ok,and 1 real revolution is 360 degree.And cut thread is well now . I check the MD35300 ,manual mentioned it can't exceed MD35135 ,if MD35135 is 0, then the value is limitted 90% MD35130 .Before MD35135 =0,MD35130 is 32 ,but MD3500 is 500 ,it exceed the 90%*MD35130(32)=28.8.But the service people do't tell me the reason .CNC600 can you help me to explain it? CNC600 Silver Member Joined: 10/27/2009 Last visit: 3/15/2024 Posts: 455 Rating: (77)	Hi, the final reason for the success was the modification MD31020 from 2300 to 2500.Only this MD is responsable for the correct spindle feedback (in Your configuration). The modification MD35300[0]...[5] from 500 to 10 is related to the SPOS command (M19), This parameter defines the speed for switching on the position controler when SPOS in programmed and the spindle is not on reference yet. 500 rpm was too high before. (more than max speed). The modification MD34040 REFP_VELO_SEARCH_MARKER from 0.83333 to 5 is a reference issue, defines the speed for zero puls searching. (causes just a shorting of referencing time). regarding the 90%-limitation: the CNC limits internally the speed setpoint for the spindle on 90% of the available max speed when the spindle's position controller has been switched on (e.g. SPCON, after SPOS/M19...). The "available max speed" is a result of an internal calculation of many parameters. One of them is MD35135. MD35135 = 0 ==> 90% limitation is active in SPCON MD35135 <> 0 ==> the limitation of MD35135 becomes effective in SPCON. hope that helps CNC600
