May be you forgot to supply + 24Volt on terminal 21 and M on terminal 40?

weddra2799 Regular Member Joined: 8/10/2009 Last visit: 7/10/2022 Posts: 29 Rating: (2)	In Simatic S7, you cannot disable overflow or underflow channel diagnosics. The error may not be reported to the CPU, but the SF LED of the module will turn on. There is a note in the user manual about unused inputs. Basically, if you have channel groups that are unused, deactivate them in HW Config. If you have a used channel group, but a spare unconnected input, then you must terminate the unused input to eliminate the overflow/underflow diagnostics that can occur. Basically, an RTD input has a high input impedance and without a external load attached, the input will drift to some state (normally to a voltage input rail) which can cause the diagnostic to be tripped. I would suggest using the 0 C resistance, i.e. PT100 would use a 100 ohm resistor.

And then deactivate the un-used channels from HW config. as per the attached picture. Deactivating unused chanels also reduces the module cycle time. Here in under the statment of the manual: Unused channels In order to avoid incorrect measurements, the module's product up to version 02 must be configured with an unused channel of an active group of channels. Connect a resistor of the nominal range to the unused channel in order to suppress diagnostics errors. Set the "disabled" value at the "measurement type" parameter for unused channels. This setting reduces module cycle times. Check also that you have selected the transduced correctlly in HW config. To do it, open HW config, double click on the module, select input part-1 mask, and check measuring type, measuring rande and / or temp. coefficient for each group by clicking on its input field. Then if the SF led of the module is still lit, connect a restance in a measuring range (i.e. 100 Ohm as for 0 Deg. Cel). for the un used channels Attachment RTD.JPG (473 Downloads)
