Remote connection via VPN with NAT router

brian.grimshaw Posts: 61 Rating: (11)	Hello, I am trying to connect to a S7-319 PLC in our customer's premises over a VPN connection. PC ---> router ---> Internet ---> Cisco router ---> PLC (CP343) I can ping the PLC when I use its NATed address, but I can't persuade TIA Portal to use this address. If I change the project and give the CP343 the same address as the NATed address, it will go online and (presumably) I can download code - I can certainly monitor at this point. The only issue is that I can't download the hardware configuration, if I do, the new IP address will be downloaded too and I will lose the connection. Our previous PLC vendors' systems all allowed you to enter the IP address manually if required so we could always connect. Is there a way round this? Thanks, Brian

I tried that but remember that TIA portal (and S7) use many many "strange" ports TCP/UDP style that are well documented and must be all translated, otherwise it won't work. Ping is just the ARP service but to go online with TIA it's more complicated. Two solutions: 1) Create a VPN between ur computer and remote station 2) Buy an eWon router that will allow you the access perfectly 3) Go to Lufthansa :P

brian.grimshaw Posts: 61 Rating: (11)	Yes, we already have the VPN, and the PLC is only a small part of the equipment connected to it. We have over a hundred customers using this system and don't really want a different solution for this one.
