Hi,

1.) you need TIA V13 SP1 for simulating the PLC, this is only possible with PLC FW Version V4.x in the project

2.) you must install PLCSIM V13 SP1 to simulate the PLC, the SIMULATION is not build in in the TIA Portal, it is a extra SW Package.

which PLC with which FW Version you have created in TIA, please give the exact inforrmation (Order Number and FW Version in the project)
Which TIA Poertal you have exactly, V13 is not a specific version, check installed Software in Tia (Help menu) to get this information.

If you select the PLC in the projecttree is the simulator button active?

A TIA V10.5 Project? Is this really the project with which you work?
Then bad news for you:

With TIA V10.5 no Simulation of S7-1200 is possible, you Need TIA PORTAL V13 SP1 !

For a S7-300 a complete other PLCSIM is used (PLCSIM V5.x).

To work with the Project you must do the following steps:

upgrade the Project from V10.5 to V13.SP1

update the unspecific PLC S7-1200 to a S7-1200 PLC V3 (Device view)

upgrade the S7-1200 V3 to a S7-1200 V4 (device view)

then you can simulate
