I've been programming safety PLC's for twelve years now but only now am I picking up the Siemens kit to do my first project with. I have got all the manuals and the software on my PC but I must admit that I am strugling. My biggest problem is that the manuals assume the reader is familiar with all the terminology and global structure of Siemens kit, and I've got neither.... So, I am reading the manual and am using the example program (ZEn32_02_FSystem_FHProj). I managed to get all my hardware in and have created a CFC flowchart. There is nothing much in the flowchart, just two F_CH_AI blocks and a F_CH_BI. Now, where I get confused is the IO connections and hardware addressing... In the example CFC the "CHADDR" part of the blocks are connected to the left pane of the CFC, with a descriptor that starts with @F_(1)(A,2)\DO 10xDC24 etc etc. If I read my manual correctly this connection was created automatically? But no matter how I try in my own program, I can't create this connection myself, and I keep getting compile errors stating "cannot create module driver" . I must have done something right at one stage though because during the first compilation I got to enter my cycle time, and a host of auto generated blocks (@F_xxxx) appeared in the CFC tree. Can someone shed some light on this for me, how do I create a succesfull safety hardware assignment between my CFC chart and the actual hardware in the project? one of the compile errors: Parameter access CFC(1).1.VALUE to the "LIT-0507" address does not occur via the process image, rather via direct I/O access. The rule should be a process image access (see details)."

Eastern Posts: 557 Rating: (64)	Hello, I think you are able to complie your hardware confiuration. Not able to complie cfc. 1) In hardware for analog if you are using PIW than change it to IW because it create problem while you compile hardware. 2) Take example of DI module. Configure module in hardware assign name than call channel driver in CFC & make one connection manually & try to complie your module driver will generate automatically. 3) With out channal/Module driver you can not commuincation PLC & modules. Try with hardware configuration with PLC & one DI module if you are able to compile CFC will get to know your problem. I hope this with help.

HenkAnalfabeet Posts: 46 Rating: (1)	Ok, my hardware does indeed say "PIW" , not IW. When I replaced my safe input signal with an IW signal it compiled and the addressing was auto generated, a great step in the right direction. Next problem now is that when I compile the project I get a crash (even after a reboot) windows reports that s7amkapx.exe caused a crash. It does not crash with the example project. I will investigate a bit more why this is... Thanks for your suggestion!

Eastern Posts: 557 Rating: (64)	Hello, Go to hardware configuration. open property of PLC-select cycle/Clock memory-you will find input filed from below name. Size of process imaze input area Size of process imazeoutput area if you increase a number for example 1024 your analog inout outout will automatically convert from PIW to IW in this specific define area. for exe problem save as your project select with reorganization (Slow) Hope this will help.
