1. Is the screen size same.

2. Does the new panel require new software, ie WinCC etc

3. What did the Original Programmer do while migrating.

First please note that MP277 has four main different versions.

• The four follow-on units (*-1AX2) can be can be configured in: WinCC flexible 2008 SP3 Update 5 and higher (19241467) or using SIMATIC WinCC V13 HSP and higher (60497002).
• The four units (*-1AX1) configurable with WinCC flexible 2005 Standard SP1.

So based on your panel type, you should choose the suitable successor.
