Strange 224XP error

AMAZINGAHMED Gold Member Joined: 8/27/2006 Last visit: 10/22/2024 Posts: 719 Rating: (88)	Dear All, I have a project where I connect a barcode reader to a PLC 224XP through port1 using ASCII communication. Port0 is used for a TD200 The program works fine, then if I switch the power OFF then ON after a few hours, a portion of the program stopps. This portion is responsible for processing the ASCII received stream. To make the program run again, i must re-download the program. It happened on time that I uploaded the program to re-download it, it gave me the error in the first picture. When I monitor, the screen shows what in the second picture. I don't understand where is the error. Can anybody help? Thanks Attachment error.pdf (214 Downloads)

Helmut_13 Posts: 2930 Rating: (432)	Hi, this is a problem if you overwrite memory. In case of error check what the value is starting at VB200. It may happen that you have values in this area which can not be converted into HEX. Valid is: 0 .. 9 and A .. F. All other charackters can not be converted. Hope this helps

adrian1982 Posts: 37 Rating: (3)	Same here, i have a CPU 226 . Sometimes a part (1-2 subroutines) stop functioning for no apparent reason. Last time it was the proximity sensor witch measure RPM of a power generator. Sensor worked fine but the routine witch convert pulses to RPM had a mind of it's own. I've tried to re-download the program but to no success, same error after download. My only solution was to clear the memory and download the program. I don't know if it's a faulty CPU or memory of CPU, but i know it's something wrong somewhere. This error does not appear frequently and i can't reproduce.
