I have a CPU1214C (6ES7 214-1BG40-0XB0), I checked the online & diagnoses to check the software version and firmware and it shows that v13 and firmware 4.1.3. so, i downloaded the tia portal v13 sp2 to take backup from the PLC. but, it shows the error, "the hardware configuration was created and downloaded with an incompatible version of step7.could not upload hardware configuration." I need to take the backup from plc. I also using the same version shows in online & diagnosis. I checked for SP1 software but it not available now. How to take backup from that unit. Kindly, explain this.

In this case the remedy is somewhat the one you have followed, which you can see in the following FAQ:

"How can you load the project data from the CPU into your PG if the project data has been loaded with one of the earlier versions of STEP 7 (TIA Portal)?"

In some cases, I have seen that it has had to be installed and gone through all the SPs and updates to see which one it was installed with. The bad thing is what you mentioned, that since it is a discontinued version, the files cannot be found on the SIOS website. You can still configure them by talking to a sales representative or Support.
