I  have a  problem in  HMI which is KTP400 basic.

The image file installed on HMI is version 15 and i have version 14.01 So when i try to download , it asks for  Overwrite and Fit , but after selecting it.. doesnt get download and gives the error of " Adaptation of target device failed"

Now when m trying to do OS update and reset to factory settings , nothing is happening no error message and no info.

Please help.

Also for your information...on my system Chinese Prosave is installed so does that affect anything or its ok.

I have tried doing OS update and rest through HMI device maintenance in TIA V14 SP1 but no success.

 
Thanks for the link sir but I have already tried this option ..When I connect the pen drive nothing comes on the screen of HMI...

It is said in document that "Start recovery" button will come but after I connect nothing comes and HMI screen remains as it is.

Any suggestion ??

Do I have to go into some settings on HMI for doing the recovery???or it will ask automatically after connecting the pen drive and power recycle???

Also the USB is FAT32 and higher version .

Here is a link to a Siemens FAQ on the subject, it says the following:

Until further notice it is recommended to use operator panel version V14.0.1.0 both in new projects and in existing projects.

 I hope this can help you towards a solution

• The USB stick have to be provided with USB version 2.0 or lower.

 FAT32 is critical in this situation. If the partition has some other filesystem format, it might not work.

Just plugging the USB drive to the display is not activating the recovery mode. You need to do a power off -> power on, before it checks the USB drive contents.
