trouble when using flexible 2005 SP1 with MS SQL

Hi, All! I used csv files for archiving data. The system worked about 2 months in this way. But access to these files is very slow, so I reconfigured the project for archiving in database. Nothing was changed in the project except of data log properties. Archiving worked well but after 2-2.5 hours it have simply stopped! There were no diagnostic messages in alarm log before stopping. I restarted PC, but the same thing was again. I can’t understand why it happens! Please, help! ODBC data source was configured like http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/22601445. On PC installed Windows XP Prof SP3 and WinCC flexible 2005 SP1 Advanced. P. S. In that FAQ said about SQL Enterprise Manager. Why it is not included in WinCC flexible 2005 DVD? What method is supposed for creating (and management) database in MS SQL? |

Hi, Firs of all download Microsoft's SQL Management Studio Express http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=c243a5ae-4bd1-4e3d-94b8-5a0f62bf7796 Then you will be able to see instaled databases and try to connect to Flex database. I don't remember its name in version 2005. It could be ./WINCCFLEXIBLE or ./WINCCFLEXEXPRESS. You should be able to connect. If no success than you need to reinstall SQL or repair WinCC Flexible installation. I had similar problem and wasted 2 days finding solutions and trying to repair SQL server. The faster solution would be just to repair installation. It will take max 3 hours. |
