Please use our updated SIOS: IOT2050's factory firmware versions for different FS number overview. Hi, since we had a few changes regarding the pre-installed software I want to give you an overview about the different versions of the two IOT2050 devices. The FS (functional state) indicates in which "status" the device is delivered. IOT2050 Basic (6ES7647-0BA00-0YA2): FS:01 = First hardware version (PG1) FS:02 = Second hardware version (PG2) FS:04 = Hardware redesign - no functional change to FS:02 (PG2) FS:05 = Update firmware to V1.3.1 FS:06 = no functional changes to FS:05 FS:07 = no functional changes to FS:06 FS:05/06/07 require Example Image from V1.3.1 The FS:03 had a small redesign as well, but as far as I know this was never delivered due to material shortage. IOT2050 Advanced (6ES7647-0BA00-1YA2): FS:01 = Delivered without pre-installed Industrial OS (empty eMMc) FS:02 = Delivered with pre-installed Industrial OS on eMMC. Default boot device: eMMc FS:03 = Delivered with pre-installed Industrial OS on eMMC. Default boot device: SD Card FS:04 = Second hardware version (PG2) without pre-installed Industrial OS (empty eMMc) FS:05 = Hardware redesign - no functional change to FS:04 (PG2) (still empty eMMc) FS:06 = pre-installed Industrial OS V3.2.1; firmware version V1.3.1 FS:07 = pre-installed Industrial OS V3.2.3; firmware version V1.3.1 FS:08 = pre-installed Industrial OS V3.2.3; firmware version V1.3.1 FS:09 = pre-installed Industrial OS V3.2.3; firmware version V1.3.1 FS:04/05 require Example Image from V1.2.1 FS:06/07/08/09 require Example Image fromV1.3.1or Industrial OS from V3.2.1 The FS:08 and FS:09 had no software-relevant changes. IOT2050 Advanced M.2 (6ES7647-0BB00-1YA2): M.2 variant requires Example Image from V1.3.1 or Industrial OS from V3.2.1 FS:01 = pre-installed Industrial OS V3.2.1; firmware version V1.3.1 FS:02 = pre-installed Industrial OS V3.2.2; firmware version V1.3.1 FS:03 =pre-installed Industrial OS V3.2.3; firmware version V1.3.1 FS:04= pre-installed Industrial OS V3.2.3; firmware version V1.3.1 IOT2050SM (6ES7647-0CA00-1AA2): SM variant requires Example Image from V1.4.1 FS:01=First hardware version I will update this list whenever we release new FS versions. FS:01 for the first release of the CPU; FS:02 for the second release of the CPU with improvements. The IOT2050 Advanced has some more FS, because of the internal eMMc and the pre-installed Industrial OS. The complicated thing is, that the R&Ds of the IOT2050 (incl. Example Image) and the R&D of the Industrial OS are independent and not really synchronized. Let me explain the different FS: FS:01 : The Industrial OS was not available / ready when we were about the release the IOT2050. We didn't want to wait some more months, so the decision to release the device with empty eMMc was made FS:02 : The Industrial OS was ready and released, so we did pre-install it on the devices, as this was the plan from the beginning. FS:03 : There were lots of eglible complaints, because eMMc was first boot device, so each and every customer was in need to go through the first setup, even when he didn't want to use the Industrial OS, but the Example Image on SD or eMMc instead. So we decided to change the default boot order to have SD card as first boot device FS:04 : Same story as FS:01, but with second release of the CPU future FS:05 : I think you can image this functional state. The IndOs will come pre-installed again. I am also not happy with this, but decisions are not made by me :) Best regards!

There is no recall of the "old" devices, as the heating issue is not affecting the functionality of the device. It was tested and released under these conditions. Best regards!

Edit: Thought this FS:05 might be with pre-installed industrial OS but seems like there still is no pre-installed as the IOT2050 red stat led lit up on first boot.

FS:04 (Basic) and FS:05 (Advanced) are small hardware redesigns to the prior versions, there is no functional difference. The eMMc is of the FS:05 (Advanced) is still empty as there is still no IndOS V3.x available.... Best regards!
