Hi, Make sure you have configured the hosts and lmhosts files for name resolution between PCs: What are the requirements for operating SIMATIC WinCC in a Windows network? |
A rating will be well appreciated. |

Hi, I have the same problem with the first commentator; while trying to set a server client configuration in WinCC Pro V14 SP1 UP10, I linked two pcs with a standard ethernet cable, connected them with TCP/IP v4 with IP Addresses and Subnet options filled up. The problem here is that when I go to “This PC→Simatic Shell” I only find my computer under “Simatic Shell” (I did update and choose a network adapter option under Simatic Shell→ settings).
I followed the video tutorial https://youtu.be/KDSVQJ0VOyM?t=664 . I did all the steps until 11:04, and the only thing is that I used an actual second pc instead of a virtual machine.
Also, If I need an update regarding my WinCC and TIA Portal versions, how can I convert a v14 project to the new version suggested.
Thank you in advance for Replying. |

Hello first of all you should check every single setting in this FAQ on both sysems: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/de/en/view/108464289 if you cannot see each other in SIMATIC Shell you can also try to use each other as Multicast Proxy, this helped me also a few times Bye Murof |
