litses Member Joined: 12/14/2010 Last visit: 2/2/2011 Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	I have a problem. I have installed Simatic Manager & Disgi v4.83 in a virtual pc. I can connect online to a device, and I can change parameters as LEDs infos, protection settings. The problem is that I cannot chenge general parameters as device configuration, profibus address or even I cannot initialize the device from the beginning. I have a message of interruption of the communication. Has anyone any idea?

Download the firmware from www.siprotec.com then try to donwload it into Siprotec directly from your Windows, not VMWare. Soyoucan test the cable, serial port and Siprotec. If it works, there'ss somethingin your project or VMware. If itdoesn't works, try another cable or an USB-Serialcable. If you have other Siprotec, tryit. If this doens't help,please contact energy.support@siemens.com Send the same files you posted here. Mike J

I 've decided to transfer the same project in my virtual pc and get rid of digsi, simatic maneger etc from my pc. The cable works for sure as I can download some things to the device, but not root infos (like enabling one new protection, changing protocols, etc). I can only change secondary information like the ones you are authorizedto change in front of the screen of the relay by hand. Tnx anyway.
