Hello dimsenio, To bridge a distance of 4km you need a radio link. However, with the same bandwidth, the range decreases with the length of the radio link. The data traffic with an S7 connection of two devices is quite high. With a connection with 2.4 GHz you can only get 300m far. At 869 MHz you can reach 3000m. But the bandwidth is no longer sufficient for the S7 connection or access via Logosoft. It might be possible with Modbus. Depending on the topographical conditions, you may have to set up one or more repeater stations. But all of this only applies to a line of sight and in good weather! If it is only a question of querying a sensor, only a wireless sensor with Modbus might be a better choice. Your wallet will also have to give up a lot. You will probably have to invest 3,000 euros for the wireless connection. The experts from Schildknecht were able to help me a lot with the selection of a radio link. With the tank level sensor, it is important to know what material the tank is made of. Which medium or liquid it is and how high the maximum level is. Only then can you actually choose which one you need and how big your riding area has to be. For a tank that doesn't freeze over, I would use tachometers or pressure sensors. In my experience, ultrasonic or radar are unsuitable because of the condensation. To be honest, I can't think of a way to continuously monitor the level of a tank that freezes over. Pressure sensors would be destroyed by the frozen water. Personally, I mostly use the sensors from Peppler & Fuchs, E&H, IFM or Siemens. Kind regards Ella_68 |
