Hello Vishal; Compressing the memory of a S7-400 CPU should cause no major problem in your operations. See the following discussion: Can I compress memory during work of PLC? You can even use a specialized function SFC 25 "COMPRESS" to command the compression of the load memory through your program, as explained by our friend Denilson Pegaia. Compression in a Siemens PLC is the equivalent of a Defrag on a Windows PC, it eliminates gaps in the memory structure to free available but unsued areas. Compression can happen even while the CPU is running, without issues. See the screenshot below (taken from the Standard and System Functions manual [for S7-300/400 CPUs] ) for details of SFC 25. https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/us/en/view/109751826 Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
