Hello,

I want to to control flap position in gradus from 0 to 360 (single turn)

I use:

- CPU 1214C with 4.2 firmware,

- G120C inverter with PROFINET interface,

- Analog sensor witch directly shows position in gradus 4mA - 0, 20mA - 360.

I want to use motion technology object to control axis, but I have to choose encoder as position signal.

Is it possible to replace value from encoder with analog value?

thank You very much for perfect advice with example.

I have some problems with starting but now it works.

I give you info what was problem for me:

1. You have to use version 6 of motion contol library.

1. Telegram 81 in S7-1200 is bit different defined than in s7-1500 so I have to change in manually in FB.

2. When You create Telegram 81 value in DB - You have to now exact names of UDT data, becouse TIA editor doesn't help You.

3. As default in motion object - put some value in fine resolution field - and my system work bad.

4. when I change something in object editor and download it to PLC (when I'm online) I have switch off and on power for PLC to activate changes.

Guess you won't get any answer from the user, as he already did not answer to the same questions 3 years ago.

Therefor just my 2 cents to his last statements, perhaps this helps you. Regarding point:

1. I'm not sure which version he talks about, the one of the motion control on S7-1200, or the one of S7-1500 motion control from the linked example. Could be, that S7-1200 motion only supports this connection to DB from version 6 onwards, but if this is the case, then it is the way it is. WIthout connection to DB, there is not really a way to achieve this task.The TO simply expects the data according to PROFIdrive norm, and an analog value does not comply to this standard.
2. This statement is just wrong. Telegram 81 is defined by the PROFIdrive norm, and is the same on every device (perhaps little-endian/big-endian can make a difference in the structure, but this difference is not existing between S7-1200 and S7-1500).
3. Yes, this is "system behavior". TIA does not offer the name of this system data type for PD_TELXY with its intellisense. It is not nice, personally I do not like this either, but it just ist this way for years now.
4. Don't just put "some value" in fine resolution field! I know that in the past there were some modules where a certain fine resolution was either this value or no fine resolution, but with S7-1200/1500 you really have to enter the fine resolution you have (even zero if it is this way)
5. Seems like somebody discovered the difference between working memory and load memory  (sorry for the sarcasm, couldn't help myself here)

So anyhow: This task is not a standard task, so you have to solve it by means of the application (e.g. with additional code you create). The application example that was linked above, gives a good hint how to do it. I've used it for S7-1500 motion myself; for S7-1200 motion you need to adapt this a little, but I do not really see the big issue for this.
