Protect values of DB

This is the obvious answer but maybe you have not tried it: in SIMATIC Manager manually upload the online DBs and store them in a backup project. You can export DBs into text files and work in Excel. The drawback - this is a manual procedure. If you search the internet you may find commercial products that can be scheduled to upload and backup online DBs. I think this is actually quite easy to do programmatically using theCOM interfaces of SIMATIC Manager, if you want to try that approach. For the non-programmer though, it is really not difficult to transfer DBs using the FTP functions in the IT-CP card. You couldbuild the filename using the date and transfer the DB automatically if you need a scheduled backup.
