danw Gold Expert Joined: 3/28/2010 Last visit: 11/19/2024 Posts: 1081 Rating: (214)	The DSIII I have one my bench show does not show the letter C for Mode 8, it shows CUR but that's probably a firmware version situation. I call Mode 8 the 'force output in manual mode'. The DSIII I have uses the word CUR (current) as upper display when one cycles through the modes with the M button. Apparently you have activated Mode 8 by holding down both the up and down buttons for more than 2 seconds, and the transmitter now forces the output to the value shown in the display; it is no longer a pressure transmitter, it is a mA source. To exit Mode 8 hit the M button once (display shows CUR (probably C in yours) in upper display, mode 8 in lower left), and use the M button as many times as needed to cycle through the modes, past Mode 14 to operational mode and stop, Operational mode (no Mode number shown on the lower left) is the exit out of pushbutton mode.

danw Gold Expert Joined: 3/28/2010 Last visit: 11/19/2024 Posts: 1081 Rating: (214)	The Status shows it's in simulate mode. You've clicked on "Stop simulation" on all tabs? What about trying to unlock the keypad and then entering/exiting Mode 8 on the keypad to disable the simulate mode?

EbrahimKarimi Member Joined: 9/26/2020 Last visit: 12/12/2023 Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	I had the same issue but after connecting HART to the transmitter, found out that in section "Hart communication" there is an option "Current output active" which was inactive. only it needs to change it to Active.

EbrahimKarimi Member Joined: 9/26/2020 Last visit: 12/12/2023 Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	There was an error (hardware firmware alarm) plus letter "C" in mode on bottom left side of display on a SITRANS P DS III which appeared by itself before connecting to transmitter while transmitter was working for a long time. (attached pdf) after connecting via Endress+Hauser HART communicator (HW: Commubox - SW: Field Xpert SMT70) to transmitter by factory reset the error gone but letter "C" remained . in this situation all three buttons still were disabled. on Hart communicator software Field Xpert (attached pdf), found out that in section "Hart communication" there is an option "Current output active" which was inactive. only it needs to change it to Active.
