Hi,

I'm having problems booting from SD-card. The first time after writing image to the sd, the iot2050 would boot. After installing some software and rebooting the device, it wouldn't boot anymore.

UART gives following output during booting:

I inspected the original /boot/boot.scr from the image and it's size is 670 bytes whereas the one on the sd-card is 111 bytes. After copying the original boot.scr from the image to the non-booting sd-card, it gets further.

Now it hangs on "Waiting for root device PARTUUID=88c13384-a6c4-4c29-93da-0b25e8de2e06".

Does this refer to the sd-card? My know-how ends here. Is the boot.scr / sd-card getting corrupted somehow?

On the displayport it shows two tux's and a blinking cursor.

Yes, that reboot is supposed to sync the changes we do to boot.scr on first startup (that's why you can't take the backup). But, still, the file was corrupted. We've addressed the issue of hard shutdowns in https://github.com/siemens/meta-iot2050/commit/e69afd3981bc31327e674416932f738b031d23a0.
