Not enough Modbus connections available in Logo

sjt01 Regular Member Joined: 11/19/2021 Last visit: 5/26/2025 Posts: 45 Rating: (0)	I have a network of Logos, a non-Siemens PLC, a Deif engine controller and various meters which communicate by Modbus. I am using a Logo as the master, but have run out of available connections. Would the most basic Simatic 1200 be a good option for a master with many more possible Modbus connections, to send the data to the PLC and some of the Logos, or is there a better solution?

Pau97 Joined: 7/27/2023 Last visit: 8/28/2025 Posts: 131 Rating: (9)	Hi! An S7-1200 allows a maximum of 14 connections for open communication (Open User Communication) that can be used for Modbus. Of these, 8 are reserved. This means that 8 connections are secured for Open User Communication and 6 dynamic connections can be used for Open User Communication.
