Hi,

As we have many Advanced devices on different sites equipped with Industrial OS V3.2.3, i wanted to do the firmware update remotely from this OS. Unfortunately, there is no BUILD_ID line in the /etc/os-release file and it seems to make the update impossible as i get the  message "no firmware image could be updated on this board" (see attachment for more details). How shall i proceed to update the firmware from the Industrial OS?

On a device i have on my desk i have reinstalled the Indus OS from scratch, using the service stick, and in the installed version there is no BUILD_ID. I have not done any update! Using the example image would require me to go in the plants worldwide to update the firmware which is not a solution. Could you please check how to do from Industrial OS? Thanks in advance

Hello,

For your information, it worked for me without any issues on numerous devices (around 20). I manually edited the/etc/os-releasefile by adding BUILD_ID="V01.03.01".
Make sure to update the iot2050-firmware-update beforehand.
Then, restart the firmware update process. It worked perfectly.
If it doesn't work, it will simply indicate that the system is not compatible.
