CPU222, EM277 and TD200C

d00 Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	The port on the CPU 222 has been programmed as a FREE Port and talks to a computer through our own software; thus the TD200C could not talk to the CPU 222 throught the same port. Then we purchase an EM277 (connected to the CPU222) to talk to the TD200C. However, the TD200C keeps showing an "CPU not responding" message. Only the power LED is on the EM277, no other light is on. Do we need to configure the CPU222 to insert the EM277? Or the CPU222 will talk to EM277 automatically? Do we need to write some code for the CPU 222 to talk to the TD200C thru EM277? If yes, please e-mail a sample program to me. We just want to displace one variable (just like a digital meter), no write or other control is needed. Thanks.

So there should be somewhere a Profibus master? But I doubt it will work communicating with TD200C Perhaps you can use a CPU with two ports. Best regards, Wizard

d00 Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Thank you for your reply. We thought that the TD200C is a master; thus will talk to CPU222 through EM277. I guess the CPU224XP or CPU226 should work for us, right? They both have two ports. Thanks. dt

Helmut_13 Posts: 2930 Rating: (432)	Hi all, you can use a EM277 together with a TD200. This you can find in the S7-200 system manual in the technical data for the EM277. Limitation: TD200 must be V2.0 or higher If it does not work then check the TD200 settings: Station adress of the PLC must be the same then the station adrress of the EM277. The baud rate does not matter because the EM277 supports auto baud with baud ratefrom 9600, ... up to 12Mb. The only thing you have to program in the PLC is a valid TD200 parameterblock. No other changes are necessary. I hope this helps. Regards Helmut
