Download F Program doubt

Hi to all,

In theese days, im facing with a fail safe program, i working on two different S7 400 F/FH systems.

The first, is equipped with to external Ram, and i have no problem when i need to download the changes only.

The second instead is equipped with two external eprom, so it is very annoying when i have to modify somethings.

My doubts are:

In the system with the eprom, to download i follow this procedure:

Compile the CFC, stop the CPUs, Copy the user program into the memory card.

But in the CFC folder, it's always present the arrow that remaid me that the program has been compiled but not yet downloaded. Is this correct?

The second is:

Can i use only one CPU for each H system (while the others are in stop) equipped with an external ram?

thanks for your reply,

Reguarding the Ram memory, i have not the possibility to buy to other Ram, i'm on site, and i have only two external Ram.

So, in one H system i have installed the Ram, and in other one i have two Eprom.

But to avoid to stop the second one every time i need to change something, i thought to perform the loop check only with one cpu for each system (with ram inside), and for the start up bring two other ram from home.

Do you think is possible?

NOTE: Instead of putting one CPU of a safety system in STOP mode and increase the shutdown risk , buy 2 proper RAM memories and ensure back up batteries for your system by changing batteries in shorter intervals.

this is my target, speed up my activities for precommissioning, once the plant will be in starting up, the system will be at 100%

During commissioning before start up , when process is not live, I think it is OK to do it for fast function test.But, when your process is live, it is wiser to have both H-CPUs in operation.
