Hardware setup regarding 6ES7331-1KF02-0AB0

MacG86 Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Hello I`ve connected a PT100 element to this analog card. The following hardware parameters are used Measuring type = RTD Measuring range = Pt 100 Std Input reading is showing 400 even though I measured 38 degrees Celsius whit the multimeter. What could be the problem?

Try to heat up the pt100 to see if readed value increase (or put the pt100 in fridge to see is value decrease) Best Regards

dchartier Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 9/27/2006 Last visit: 11/12/2024 Posts: 12293 Rating: (2691)	Hello MacG; The raw value for a PT100 is a multiple of 10 of the actual value: to obtain the exact temperature you measure, you take the raw analog input, transform it to a REAL value and divide by 10.0. So your raw value of 400 would correspond to 40.0 C. This analog module should give you a +/- 1K resolution. If the difference between what you test (38.0 C) and what you read through the PLC (40.0 C) is too large you might want to look at how the PT100 is connected. Do you use 2-wire, 3-wire or 4-wire connections? Please refer to the following manual for details and technical data for your analog module (section 6.6 for the 331-iKF02), and table 5.11 that will show you the relationship between raw and actual values for a PT100 sensor. The make and model of the received modules are as per our requirements, and these modules were kept in store. Recently, we come across an issue with our existing module. Upon replacing it with the new cards, abnormal temperature parameters arose almost 10 degrees difference (higher) which show the abnormal behavior of module.
