Need help with V24 interface settings 840d for program transfers

Yves_Belgium Posts: 23 Rating: (0)	Hi, I have a problem with my 840d control, I can transfer programs from the machine to a computer via rs232, (v24) but i can´t send a program anymore from my computer to the machine. If i do transfer a program to the machine, i get the error: 1) Die datei ist kein archiv Or when i changesome parameters (startbits, stopbits, Xon,....) 2) Syntax error: please check datei-/pathname..... It´s always error 1 or 2 that appears. What are the correct interface settings on the machine and on my computer? Because i think i´ve tryed allmost every combination and still i get an error. I think it´s strange because i can send a program to my computer and not the other way Thanks Regards, Yves Wienen

Pee Ell Sea Posts: 672 Rating: (57)	Hi, The error you get is that it is not an archive file. The 840D has 2 file formats. Punch Tape and Archive Punch tape is sent as a plain ASCII characters. Archive is sent with checksums attached. Make sure in device and also on the input screen that Punch tape is selected.

Yves_Belgium Posts: 23 Rating: (0)	Yep, problem is solved in services i can choose "v24" or "PG" (See the picture in attachment) if i choose "PG" totransfer myprograms, i don´t have problems anymore It´s still strange because i´ve allways used V24 for transfers but thanks!
