I have S7416 3-DP System with 2 nos of S7 416 CPU with 14 ET200M Stations CPU 1:6ES7416-3XL04-0AB0 Firmware V4.0.4 CPU 2:6ES7416-3XL04-0AB0 Firmware V4.0.4 All working fine for 3 years.but 3 months before, CPU 2 all LED flashedSo I send for Repair and they replaced and they give me 6ES7416-3XR05-0ABO with V5.3.1 (CPU 2) Now Some one Please tell me, If I put this New CPU in the place CPU 2 will it work ? I Can see only one CPU inside my Hardware configuration So How Can I change Part No only for CPU 2? I have attached my plc program (Pcg uploaded from PLC) AttachmentPcg uploaded from PLC.zip (300 Downloads) |

Hello manik2010 you have "only" a Software Redundant System (rather than a "H" system) which is goodnews in your case as it means that you can operate different CPU's in it (you could even build a SWR system with one 300 and one 400). A Software Redundant system (SWR) also means that there are minor differences in the user program between the twoCPU'sand you will need to make sure to upload/download the correct one for the CPU in question(and you definetelywon't "see" the partnerCPU when you upload the program from one). As for the replacement with the newer CPU Isuggest you do bother to change the HWconfig accordingly, even though the THISrelease note for the 6ES7416-3XR05-0ABOstates that it is spare part compatible to its predecessor and that no program changes are required. And just for completeness, here is the link to the latest SWR manual which I trust will help too: SIMATIC S7-300/S7-400 Software redundancy for SIMATIC S7 I hope this helps |

Hello again manik2010
I can't tell you this as you only uploaded the program of one CPU. In an "ideal" SWR setup, both system will be configured as identical as possible to each other. This is however not a "must have" and SWR allows you to for example have extra "single" I/O's and/or program parts that only belong to one CPU andonly existin that CPU (i.e. they are not part of the redundant system).
You should definetely changethe CPU. I would also keepMPI and Profibus addresses the same that they were in the original (now faulty) CPU 2 configuration (why do you think you should change these?). I also don't know why you would want to change the IP addressof the CP443-1, could you perhaps explain the reason behind your thinking here a bit more?
I guess I caused some confusion here with my statement. What I meant was that there are in general subtle differences in the user program between CPU 1 and CPU 2. For exampleFC100 "SWR_START" (to be called from OB100) requires you to nominate the CPU Identifier which is "A" in one CPU and "B" in the other (other call parameters will differ too and they depend on the link that is choosen between the two CPU's). This means that OB100 in CPU"A" has aslightly different program compared to OB100 in CPU"B". If you now were to accidentally upload the program from CPU"A"and download it into CPU"B", it won't work anymore. To surmise:If CPU"B" needs to be replaced, make sure you have a backup of CPU"B" and download it back into CPU"B" after you replaced the CPU. If you do NOT have a program backup of the faulty CPU, buthave theprogram of the still healthy CPU, you'll need to do two things: 1.)Briefly curse the name of the person who was responsible for maintaining program backups on site. 2.) Start by assuming that faultyCPU's did NOT contain any non-redundant program parts (i.e. was essentially a carbon copy of the otherCPU) and adjust the parameters of the FC100 call for it as per manual. 3.) Start it up and keep your fingers crossed that it really had no non-redundant program parts in it (if it did, that code is obviously lost now and would need to be manually re-engineered). I hope this helps |

Dear Mr Fritz, I have searched my backup copies but unfortunately I couldn't find the CPU2 program. So I just copied CPU1 program and modified as CPU2 for Software redundancy. I have attached my updated PLC program for your reference. After I downloaded this program, all the leds light up INTF,EXTF,BUS1F,BUS2F.and also in Stop mode. Now both PLC are ON and CPU1 running the Plant and CPU2 simply showing Stop. Now I need your help maybe I need some Software redundancy Sample project with CPU416 and CP443-5. Inside Simatic manager I can find only H-System Sample projects and also without CP443-5. Thanks & Regards Mani. AttachmentPcg uploaded from PLC.zip (244 Downloads) |
