To access an DB in SCL you allways use the absolute or symbolic address of the DB: [code]MW0 := DB1.DBW1;[/code] or [code]M0.0 := DataBlock(dbindex_w).DX0.0;[/code] ("dbindex_w" is the index of the used DB as word)

A solution could be to write an FC in STL. This FC has an input parameter BLOCK_DB and gets the DB number an returns it. This FC you could call then in your SCL function.

To do this, make a STL file with the next commands and call this in a SCL block. [:cry:] STL-source: FUNCTION "DBLength" : VOID TITLE = Read Out DBNO VERSION : 0.1 VAR_OUTPUT DBNumber: INT ; // Datablock Number DBLength: INT ; // Length of the Datablock END_VAR BEGIN NETWORK TITLE = Length of the Datablock in the DB_Register checking LDBNO; // Load number of the opened Datablock T#DBNumber; LDBLG; // Load length of the opened DB (Byte count) T#DBLength; BE ; END_FUNCTION With this you have also the length of the called DB (might be usefull).
