Use of a compter of S7-300

Draxelmaier Posts: 27 Rating: (0)	Hello members I want to use a compter of the automat S7-300 CPU313C to count the number of the impulses starting from an incremental encoder. I read the documentation of S7-300, I find that there are 256 S7 compter whose beach of counting is 0 to 999 for of which I need not. I also found that there are in the integrated functions 3 compter of maximum frequency 30Khz which meets my need. But the problem, I do not know the name of these compter and their address as for S7-200 (Hight Speed Compter HSC). Can you help me... Thank you.....

SMART DEXTER Posts: 38 Rating: (0)	Hi draxelmaier , If I am able to get you correctly ,You want to count the pulses from incremental encoder . Recently I did it with FM 350-2 High speed Counter module but you have to buy a FM software which is not much costlier . Regards, Pam

Draxelmaier Posts: 27 Rating: (0)	Hello members I found in the library of the functions system of SIMATIC S7, SFB29 "HS_COUNT" and SFB38 "HSC_A_B"that I Think, they meet my need, but I do not have the complete documentation which explains well the operation of these 2 functions system. Can you help me to have the documentation of these functions or to explain me the principle of these integrated functions.. Thank you.

Direct counting, periodical… Thank you still… Well, you don't have to fill all the inputs/outputs. For your application, perhaps it's possible to use frequency measurement. See manual earlier mentioned chapter 5.6.1. Best regards, Wizard
