Thanks but we want to know why 416-5H is the latest while 417-5H is most powerful? logically the latest should be most powerful (in specification)

Hello husseinwaledia, In addition to #dp's valuable post and as I said earlier, you shouldn't care of which CPU has been released after which as long as it fulfills your project's requirements. You should check the IO count, communication requirements, whether you have fail safe or not and some other things before you decide which CPU will be more suitable for your needs. The latest release is the same for all H CPUs, Now 412-5H,414-5H,416-5H and 417-5H have the same release date. Yes, the 416-5 is to be considered the newest "family" member but this new generation as a whole has been born together. Back to your question, the V6. release (containing all CPUs) has more processor speed and more memory space than V5.4. As I said it was not logic to use 417H CPU for small and medium projects so Siemens gave us the 412H and 414H. Then they found that there's a gap in the market that they have to fulfill with a new CPU between 414 and 417. So, the released 416H. Now the discrete market needs redundant CPUs for large warehouses and so on. So, they released the 1500H. This is how it works. It's market needs and the advances in technology.
This would be the best thing to do. You should have a consultant or an integrator you trust. I also recommend to contact your local Siemens office and ask for a session or presentation on SIMATIC controllers. Best regards, H-H |

No my friend. It seems you still can't get my point. the 416H is not the latest version of S7-400H. The latest version is V6 CPUs. This version has 412-5H, 414-5H, 416-5H and 417-5H. All above CPUs have been released in 2012. you can never say 416-5H is newer than 417-5H or any other V6 CPU. You can write the part number of each CPU (e.g. 6ES7412-5HK06-0AB0) in the search bar and click on product details. Now, you will see the release date of each CPU. Regards, H-H |

Hello hussein; Here is an example of the steps to find the Release Date of a S7 module (any model for which ypu have the part number). You can also use the same steps to look up the Technical data of the module and download technical drawings for the same. Another way to locate the Release Date information is to start from the same search for part number, and look for the Product Delivey Release articles available in the entries. You will accerlerate your search by using only the Product Note filter from the Search Area dropdown box. Here is that document as it refers to your CPU: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/gb/en/view/59903098 Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
