315-2PN/DP with modbus tcp/ip

Iam Posts: 80 Rating: (4)	hi and hello everybody,,,, Can i use 315-2PN/DP port (or any profinet port)to talk to devices on modbus tcp/ip,,,i have tried to configure the TCP connection ...but it do not allow to have connection other than s7 connection...... anybody tried to have the above configuration. thnxs Iam

For this you need to use the CP's and the special software from Siemens. Yes, it's possible to use integrated port of CPU315-2 PN/DP for communication with other devices via Modbus TCP protocol (I've made it a few months ago, my CPU acts as Modbus TCP Master on this port). It has to be done via Open IE communication available for this CPU. You can find more information about Open IE communication blocks in Step7 manual System and Standard Functions for S7-400 and S7-400. Connection configuration can be made with Open Communication Wizard which you can download from support site. You have also write your own implementation of Modbus TCP using standard blocks for Open IE communication since there is no standard software for this configuration from Siemens.

Iam Posts: 80 Rating: (4)	Hi grzegorzg, How u did that................,,,,,because we need TCP connection partner(need to be configured using netpro)....but with integrated cpu profinet port,,,,,its not allowed to have TCP connection partner other than S7 One. can you tell me in detail how you created the connection thanks Iam

With this product it's possible to communicate via ModbusTCP to third party systems with usage of the integrated PN interface of a PN-CPU. jklm Platinum Member Joined: 12/22/2006 Last visit: 1/25/2022 Posts: 1742 Rating: (309)	Hello, For TCP over PN, there is a Wizard that creates UDT blocs which in turn are used in a DB that becomes a parameter of the FB TCON For Modbus TCP on PN, the same apply (Just another Wizard, butlook alikehandling).
