hi desmul24, I saw an isolator in simens SITRANSI100 Will this be suitable or any other. Attached the manual of the isolator AttachmentFI01_2010_en_Kap07_I100_I200_News.pdf (311 Downloads) |

Hello kalidasan, I don't have practical experiance with SITRANSI100, but according to the manual it can work. My experiance is with PEPPERL+FUCHS: http://www.pepperl-fuchs.com/global/en/classid_2516.htm?view=productdetails&prodid=9830 , I have done a lot of projects with this isolater for AI 7KF02 . Hellokalidasan, You are one of the luckiest since your thread attracted more than 34 posts (what a number). However, I don't believe we all truly understand you problem. [quote user="kalidasan"]channels were configured as "D" - 2wire transducer for current measurement. But in my PLC program, i have configured the channels as 0-10V voltage. Ashighlighted earlier byUMENCHOandMarcjan,This is the strangest part of the story. Have you ever had this thing working while misconfigured?! [quote user="kalidasan"]Now the problem is, When i give power to the distributed I/O,it works good without any problem for some days even months. But one day, there will be error in the IM-153 module.SF-LED is constantly on and BF-LED makes flashes. In such a case, If i change a new AI8 module, the problem is solved again. Have you ever read the diagnostic buffer in this case? Have you enabled the module's diagnostic interrupts and group diagnostics in HW config.? Do you have a floating 0 VDC "M" or a grounded one? If you didn't enable diagnostics in this module then I recommend to do so and to read the module diagnostics in case of failure (If the faulty module is accessible). Now, do you have the transmitter working and giving correct mA after all of this confusion in connection and configuration? Do you have any diagnostics from the module in normal operation? Open HW config. and point at the 7KF02 module and press Ctrl+D to read any diagnostic data. No one can tell what the problem is until we make sure it's a channel problem not a module problem. However, maybedesmul24is right and an isolator may solve your problem. [quote user="kalidasan"]I saw an isolator in simens SITRANSI100. Will this be suitable or any other. This is a Stahl intrinsically safe barrier not just a 4-20mA isolator. [quote user="Siemens Catalog"]The transmitter supply units 9160/13-11-11sof the company Stahl are used for the intrinsically safe operation of 2- and3-wire transmitters and for connecting to intrinsically safe mA sources. [quote user="desmul24"]My experiance is with PEPPERL+FUCHS:http://www.pepperl-fuchs.com/global/en/classid_2516.htm?view=productdetails&prodid=9830, I have done a lot of projects with this isolater for AI 7KF02 . The above mentioned P+F is a current driver and not suitable for your application. [quote user="SMHZ"]Isolators are also available in Pepperl & Fuchs like: http://www.pepperl-fuchs.com/global/en/classid_1842.htm?view=productdetails&prodid=35069 This is also a wrong choice. I recommend not to buy a barrier. So, no Stahl"Siemens" and no You can find many 4/20mA to 4/20mA isolators in the market. Just take care that you need something for a 2-wire transmitter. I recommend that you search by your self but as a start take the following as reference for your search. Just remember that you can find tens more with Google. Phoenix conact:Repeater power supply - MINI MCR-SL-RPSS-I-I - 2864079 Weidmuller:ACT20M-CI-CO-OLP-S PR electronics:3186 Best regards, H-H

Hello H-H , NO YOU ARE WRONG ! I think the word "current driver" is confusing. Just see the PDF on the link I provided , and I already said " I have many experience with this isolater" Thanks for your ideas compiling the post in a nice way! Rgs, |

Deardesmul24, Maybe you meant another P+F product but you provided a wrong link unintentionally. Maybe you meant thisKFD2-STC4-1. With all respect to your experience but thedatasheetsays it all,
Even if you use it in a reverse direction "I doubt", how would you connect a two wire transmitter?!!!. Best regards, H-H |
