840C UPGRADING

Tarik Posts: 71 Rating: (0)	DEAR FRIENDS' WE HAVE A DEFECTIVE 840C SYSTEM THAT USED FOR TURNING MACHINE, I TRANSFER THE CONTENT OF 840C HARD DISK TO MY PC . I TRY TO BUY 840C TOOLBOX ,BUT I FAILD,BECAUSE IDONT KNOW FROM WHERE I CAN BUY IT(IT IS NOT EXISTS IN SIEMENS MALL). MY QUESTIONS: 1-WHICH PROGRAM I NEED TO READ (PLC PROGRAM ) AND( PLC AND NC DATA) FROM MY PC . 2-WHAT IS THE CODE OF 840C TOOLBOX, AND FROM WHERE I CAN BUY IT. 3-IF I WANT TO UPGRAD840C SYSTEM, WHICH SYSTEM ISMOST COMPATABLE TO 840C(840D,840DI,840DI SL). BEST REGARDS TARIK ============================= Hi, here are answers for your questions for your Ref. 1) check the link /tf/WW/en/Posts/38372#top 2) as I know there is NO 840C tool box like for 840D/810D/802D; 3) If your machine configuration is 840C+611D drive, thenyoucanchange it from 840C to 840D . you need to change NCK, HMI, MCP and all PLC IN/out modules. you should well know your PLC program 840C in Step5 so you can transfer them in Step7. but if you have analog drves such as 611A feed and spindle or your machine is runnong good, that is better NOT change it KEEP IT RUN!!! hope that helps

Tarik Posts: 71 Rating: (0)	Dear Nulizhung thank you for your responce, 1-i have already read this link,but it didnt show the program that can be used to read and deal with NC and PLC machine data, 2-is the normal step S5 program can read the 840C plc program or we need special program. 3-we use in our machine analog e DC drives. which is beter to use insted of 840C ,is it 840D or 840 DI with ADI4. tarik

It is possible that one could figure out all of the intricacies of the system from books. Are you trying to: Fix your machine? Change the software version of the 840C? Update to a different system altogether? Learn step5?

SHIVA-IND Posts: 8 Rating: (1)	Hi Mr.Tarik I suggest that you try to keep the same system and try to repair and load the data. Otherwise you need to use 840Di.sl with ADi4 and translate the PLC or re-write the PLC to S7. If you need our help we can do for you. I can repair , install ,commission 840C , we have all the required tools for the same. Regards: Shiva -India
