840D PL, MMC103 password issue,how to reset it

nulizhang Platinum Expert Joined: 10/17/2007 Last visit: 11/4/2024 Posts: 4064 Rating: (357)	Good day everyone, I have problem to set password into MMC103.the hardware configuration and order info. as follow: 6FC5210-0DA20-2AA1; 840D BS002; MMC103 133MHz 32MB DRAM 256KB CACHE; WIN95 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ the story is continued with my last post "MMC103 File problem.From supplier we got an exchanged MMC 103--it is an used one.I try to make it communicate with 810D. To modify the address and trans speed(810D use 187.5K ), I must set password in"start up"area. Everybody know it is SUNRISE.but whenever i set it ,it will pop a text box"password invalid“ and there are text on the top of menu line: "communication error on determing the configuration" I am 100% sure no spelling error also i input all capital letter( I test input in "programm" area). I tried 840D keyborad and also external keyboard for input they are no different. I also tried EVENING and Siemens level of password but all display are same "password invalid“ it seems will not accept any password. So simply ask " HOW to reset password in MMC103" My boss is very frustrated, as I already tested 3 set of MMC103(all the same version). I made 1st one password setting easy and communication to 810D successful, but it had file problem(REF: my last post). The 2nd one and 3rd one have the same issue for "password invalid“. please help me! it seems to me ,we need to return to Win95,using mouse to open some file under Siemens MMC software,then clean or modifying. (Please do not tell me how to reset NCK password, as I can't input password into MMC103,so I can NOT make it communicate with 810D) . thanks

I will attach the screen shot, can you give me hints how can attach more than 1 pictures. also I will try pressing "alarm cancel" key, but can you give me more cleaner instruction such as: step1:press "alarm cancel"; step2: key in password; step-3 : press "Enter" or SK "OK"..... or key in the password as normal, but keep press"alarm cancel" then press "Enter"????? Best regards. addtional infomation: 1) I worked on 840D powerline including 810D, togather withMMC102,MMC103,MMC100,MMC100.2 FROM 1997. as myself had been worked in Siemens Automation CNC and Drive from 1989 until 2005.I met hundreds of trouble cases,but it is the 1st time i cannot input password for MMC103 2) I have another "dream idea" (as the problem trouble me for good sleep, but the idea came to me during sleep): I supose those MMC103 were connected to SINUMERIK840D(PL) by their former user, standard setting should be: trans. speed=1.5Mb/s address: MMC=1; NKC=13;PLC=13. so I can connect those MMC103 to 840D NCU, to see if it can boot and establish communication.If so lucky, I will input password SUNRISE, then modify setting under "MMC" to fit 810D, which should be: trans.speed=187.5Kb/s; MMC=1;NCK=3;PLC=2, save and re-boot MMC103, it will lose communication with 840D, that means the setting is saved. at this time I will connect this MMC103 to our 810D and it should get communication, and that is what I need. please give your comments for this idea. Also can you try pressing the alarm cancel button and check Regards, Prakash Juast finish post, i have another idea, can you make sure under which path in which file we can modify address for NCK (may also for PLC address, if lucky trans.spped1.5M or 187.5K), I am sure there is that kind of file in Siemens MMC software, and I opened and used 1 or 2 times to settle the problem of someone changed standard NCK address and they lost communication MMC--NCK. at that time I can input password into MMC103, and use MMC "editor" to open and modify files. Now I can try to use mouse,get MMC booting and back to WIN95, then looking for those file(s), try to settle my problems. what i need is only establish communication MMC103 to 810D. Would you please APC tech team also give me some help! Or you can also give solution: MMC103 need to re-installation SW into HD.

Unless and until some user are phyisically going and changing the password...these goind to change... If you are already aware of the system level password.....try putting this.....and also not to discuss the the system level password here in the fourm...we can discuss thesein PM.... Try putting this system level password...and get inside...take your machine current exisitng backups like NC(Keep your machine axis in HOME position and take the BACKUP),PLC,Simatic PLC backups,and also take the GHOST backup safer side.... Clear your NC ---> once you clear your nc standard data get loaded andthe password SUNRISE isEVENINGare going to come back... Load your NC archive backup...... Your machine should be in working condition and you should be able to enter the passwords properly... Check it out... Regards, Prakash
