Alarm 25030: Actual Velocity Alarm Limit

Hello Folks,

We have been fighting a 25030 alarm for quite a while now on the X2 (slave) axis on one of our milling machines. We have tried numerous fixes, but nothing has seemed to help. I have attached a pic of a trace for 'actual velocity' on X1/X2 axis. As you can see in the pic X1 is quite uniform with only a slight fluctuation in actual velocity. X2, however, shows very large swings in actual velocity as the machine travels down the bed. We are thinking we might have a mechanical issue and that this trace graph indicate as such. But, I really don't know how to interpret the trace. Would anyone here be able to shed some light on what we are seeing in these trace graphs? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is the trace on other macine axes this bad?.

What is the trace like on encoder 1 for X1 and X2. Can you run from encoder 1?

What is the mechanical drive for X1 and X2. Ballscrew, rack and pinion, any gearbox?

I don't understand the question. Are you talking about the power-supply module?

No, the other machine axes look fine. I have attached a pic of the trace for the 1st measuring system. Running on the motor encoders we have no issues. As for the mechanical drive system, it is a belt-driven gearbox with rack & pinion setup. We recently moved the gearbox closer to the rack and readjusted the preload; this didn't help.

Hi,

If you're happy with the rack and pinion preload/backlash then the axis is possibly crabbing which would only get picked up by the second measuring system.
