Could someone pass me libraries or software manual I might be using? There are 2 references for tuning in STEP 7 for S7-300/400: PID Self-tuner Package ,Just a manual to offer.The product should be purchased as an optional package in STEP 7,But it is an integral part for TIA Portal.Some tips also can be found in regeln mit SIMATC (or older version Controlling with SIMATIC). FB58 as the integral part of STEP 7 to control temperature loops plus an embedded Tuner.The block can be found in standard libraries of STEP 7.Online help of STEP 7 includes all related data regarding this function and also a sample project."zEn01_13_STEP7__PID-Temp" Please note , in practice there are some limitations regarding using automatic adjustment of PID parameters and always using tables are recommended . Because I am using TIA I only know about commissioning Tool....But in that i can't found self tuning option!!!.. May be yuo are right ..please give screenshots... For TIA Portal, there are 3 options(I like this part the most): Embedded Tuner for S7-1200 Embedded Tuner for temperature in Technology-->PID Control-->PID Basic Functions-->TCONT_CP(S7-300/400/1500) And finally my favorite Technology-->PID Control-->PID Self tuner-->TUN_EC(S7-300/400/1500) But believe me, this is not an easy function to master as the manual is like a pure academic material.In practice, you may need great knowledge to operate it in a safe manner.Please, learn a lot before purchase and apply it.

Yes PID Self-Tuner V5 Requirements The following requirements must be met: • You have an S7-300/400 station consisting of the power supply unit, a CPU, an analog input module and a digital output module. • STEP 7 ( ≥ V3.2) is installed on your programming device. • The programming device is connected to the CPU. • Standard PID Control V5 is installed on the programming device.

Hello, Tuner algorithm works with estimation of a process with step changes in errors.Based on my experience in both SIMATIC and non-SIMATIC Products (from other manufacturers), it is easily possible for Slave controller.But, For Master controller, it includes difficulties.This is the limitation coming from Physics of a task!
