AWL file syntax?

hworost Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hello, Where I may find a comprehensive document on AWL file syntax (including headers "TYPE", "STRUCT", "DATA BLOCK", etc.)? Some information can be "assembled" from 'Help on STL ' and 'Help on STEP 7', but is there any single document? Thanks!

We may say that it contains syntax information for some "elements" in AWL file (for example NETWORK). It does not provide details how the NETWORKs, FUNCTIONs, DATA BLOCKs, etc. are positioned and represented in the file? Thanks!

If you do so, have a look at this documentation: Programming with STEP 7 V5.3 Chapter "13 Creating STL Source Files" could be interesting for you. And chapter "13.4 Syntax and Formats for Blocks in STL Source Files" describes the structure of a STL source file.

hworost Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hi, I just wanted to add that although STL-AWL syntax description exists (Ch. 13 and the containing doc), it may have some inconsistencies. For example, table in section 13.2.6 says that UDT has none of the following fields AUTHOR, FAMILY, NAME, VERSION, etc. which is oposite to what I see in the files generated by LAD/STL/FBD tool... It makes me a bit unconfident... Anyway, I am grateful that this description exists and accessible at all.
