Butterfly valve (vkf41.200)

What is the maximum pressure (static) that a vkf41.200 butterfly valve can withstand when it's fully closed, without leakage

You can find this information in the VKF41.. data sheet:

- Maximum pressure:                      16bar

- Leakage rate:                                0.01%

- Kvs:                                              4000 m*/h

It means that you have to expect a minimal leakage rate even if the valve is completely closed.

Bearing in mind the leakage rate mentioned above, the close-off pressure will depend on the type of actuator you fit to the valve.

What type of actuator do you have fitted on the valve?

What pressure is your circuit at downstream of the valve?

Also, what type of application are you using the valve for? i.e. a closed heating circuit; a drain valve for tank?

Ok, you say 4 bar. Assuming this to be at the inlet to the valve.

What is the pressure on the outlet side of the valve when you have circulation?

With circulation in your circuit, the data sheet says you can have a maximum of 3 bar across the valve when it is in the closed position. You need to check if this is the case.

The Max close-off pressure of the VKF41.200 + SAL31.00T40 is 3 BAR.

Since you have 4 BAR pressure , the valve will not close properly.

You should switch to the VKF46.200+SQL36E65 (More expensive but has a close-off pressure of 10 BAR and 0% leak)
