Calling script on PLC communication failure

WernerHimself Posts: 17 Rating: (2)	Hi fellow developers, I need a quite simple feature but I cannotfind the solution for it in WinnCC Flex 2008. When the communication between my PLC and my MP377 is lost I'd like to call a script (to display a different screen for example). Does anyone know how to realize this? Thanks in advance.

Hello Werner, Try this way: Inside a script "monitoring", that will be called any few seconds, you set a bit to 0. The PLC will set this Bit in any cyle to 1. If your "monitoring" script is called and the bit is allready "0", than you know that the PLC is not running or the connection is lost.

I understand the working of the script but what will trigger the calling of the script? Is there a timer or clock in the MP377 that I can call scripts upon? Thanks again.

IBN-Service Posts: 8946 Rating: (999)	OK, in the attached screenshot you will find the location of the "Aufgabenplaner" = Scheduler. Also you can use the function "simulate tag" to trigger a script periodically. Attachment Aufgabeplaner.jpg (529 Downloads)

This means that (worst case) the loss of communication is detected only after one minute. I need a faster response, like 2 seconds or so. I'm going yo investigate your other post. Thanks again.

Thats right. For faster monitoring you can use "tag simulation", just have a look at the links above.
